I put the FRED CP (Corporate Profits After Tax) numbers into Excel. Made a graph. Chopped off the part after 2006, the decline and bounce back, as obviously not part of the exponential trend. Then added an exponential trend line to the graph:
Okay, that last part there is -- what did you say? -- absolutely extraordinary.
As a doublecheck, did the whole period:
Extraordinary.
